Speaker Bios:

Omowale Omowale Adewale

Wale uses his physical know-how and his own experience battling the risk of heart disease to motivate and teach others how to fight for their health. Wale is also one of the founders of G.A.M.E., an international nonprofit that uses Hip Hop to organize the community around sociopolitical and economic issues facing the black and Latino community.
Ayinde Ayinde Howell
www.Ieatgrass.comAyinde Howell opened his first vegan restaurant in Seattle when he was 20 years old. Hillside Quickies Vegan Sandwich Shop attracted a following among traveling vegan artists like Saul Williams, blackalicious, Common, and Erykah Badu. In the kitchen, Howell’s influences range from raw food to soul food, from Traditional to New American. Today, Howell sees himself as an executive chef, writer, actor, musician, and entrepreneur, but above all, a vegan.
DrMontgomery Dr. Baxter Montgomery
www.drbaxtermontgomery.comDr. Baxter Montgomery is a cardiologist at Montgomery Heart and Wellness in Houston where he uses a comprehensive approach to guide patients from sickness to health. In his years as a cardiologist, Dr. Montgomery realized that plant-based diets were the key to improving health. He has since developed a food classification system that enables many patients to reverse chronic conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes without medications or surgeries.
Christy Christy Morgan, The Blissful Chef

She trained in macrobiotic cooking at the Natural Epicurean in Austin, and has since dedicated her life to helping others improve their lives through delicious, healthy meals. In 2011, Christy published her first cookbook, Blissful Bites. She currently lives in Austin where she teaches cooking classes and blogs at theblissfulchef.com.
Isa Isa Chandra Moskowitz
www.theppk.comIsa Chandra Moskowitz is a Brooklyn native who began her vegan cooking journey over twenty years ago at the age of sixteen. She’s inspired by New York City’s cuisine from all over the world, as well as her own Jewish heritage, and she loves to fuse the two. She is the creator of the Post Punk Kitchen and the author of Appetite for Reduction. She is also the co-author of several award-winning and best-selling vegan cookbooks, including Veganomicon, Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and Vegan Pie In The Sky. She’s been featured in major media outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, and NPR’s Weekend Edition. She also writes the Bust food column titled “Nickel & Dined.”
Colleen Colleen Patrick-Goudreau

Colleen is the author of five books, including The Vegan Table and Vegan’s Daily Companion. She also created a multimedia program, the 30-Day Vegan Challenge, which offers support to people making the transition to veganism through videos, daily messages, community groups, recipes, and podcasts. Colleen is a contributor to National Public Radio and The Christian Science Monitor.
Poornima Omkant

Poornimas was born in the Southern part of India. Her family has always encouraged her and appreciated her various vegetarian continental dishes. She loves cooking vegetarian delights for her family and friends. Poornima always hunts for exotic tastes to enhance her culinary art. There’s no limit to formulating new cookeries
