Our 2018 lecture and cooking demonstration room host a dynamic group of individuals! Our lectures and demonstrations are a fantastic way for attendees to get free information about the health, environmental, and animal welfare benefits of a plant-based diet. Each presentation is centered around providing the most useful information to the audience as a tool to incorporate more plant-based items in their daily lives. There are three free cooking demonstrations during the event, each providing samples to the audience of their wonderful dishes.So don’t be late! Gates open for the event at 11am; the Lecture and Demo area begins seating at 11:15am; first presentation begins at 11:30am.



1130am Aster’s Ethiopian 
 We’ll kick off our 7th annual event with some amazingly aromatic and flavorful Ethiopian cuisine from Aster’s! One of Austin’s older establishments offering plant-based foods, Aster’s has recently launched a new oil-free menu. Come sample their offerings at their booth, and be sure to be one of the first to arrive so you don’t miss out on any of the amazing food they prepare for our demo!
1230pm Dr. Bandana Chawla
Dr. Chawla is a board certified Internal Medicine physician in practice for almost 20 years She became a vegan in 2013 and became a plant based physician in 2016. Since then, she has witnessed tremendous improvements in the health of her patients on a plant-based diet. Dr. Chawla lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and 2 teenage sons. She is an active member of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM). She and her husband cofounded a blogging website and Facebook group called “Plant Powered Physicians” and a nonprofit called “Peaceful Planet Foundation” to educate and empower individuals in their community to lead healthy and mindful lives.

230pm Omowale Adewale (Black VegFest, G.A.ME) – Get ready to get active with this interactive demonstration presented by the champ!
330pm Stacy (Veggie Heaven) – Get seated early as not to miss out on one of Austin’s favorite staples in fresh Asian cuisine!
430pm Zoe Rosenberg (Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary)
We are so excited to have this young activist on our list this year! If you are, or know a young individual looking to make their mark or a difference, but aren;t sure how to get started or motivated, this is the PERFECT lecture for them to attend! COme listen to Zoe’s story about her journey in creating her own nonprofit at 11 years old!
