Our 2017 lecture and cooking demonstration room host a dynamic group of individuals unique to Austin, Texas! The Texas VegFest Lecture and Demo area is a fantastic way for attendees to get free information about the health, environmental, and animal welfare benefits of a plant-based diet. Each presentation is centered around providing the most useful information to the audience as a tool to incorporate more plant-based items in their daily lives. There are three free cooking demonstrations during the event, each providing samples to the audience of their wonderful dishes.So don’t be late! Gates open for the event at 11am; the Lecture and Demo area begins seating at 11:15am; first presentation begins at 11:30am.


1130am Krishna Matta (Madras Pavilion) Krishna is a chef at one of Austin’s well-known Indian restaurants, Madras Pavilion, and will prepare a delicious Indian brunch for us to start off the day!
Sarah Petta
1230pm Sarah Petta works as a Doula here in Central Texas. We are excited to hear her discuss plant-based nutrition during pregnancy, and plant-based nutrition for children.
130pm Jesus Mendoza Jr. (Mr. Natural’s) Jesus will cook up a Mr. Natural’s favorite, featuring unique Mexican flavors found only here in the south!

230pm Will Tucker (Will Tucker Fitness) After a morning of food and fun, Will Tucker will get attendees moving, and thinking about nutrition misconceptions and myths.
330pm Chef Lou Mustachio (The Beer Plant) The Beer Plant is the first vegan gastropub, marrying craft beer, wine and cocktails with a 100% plant-based menu, all designed by Chef Lou. You’re not going to want to miss what the chef prepares!
Ernest SemudioAction for Animals430pm Ernest Samudio (Action for Animals) Ernest is a long term animal welfare orchestrator whose knowledge and passion are behind the City of Austin banning the bull hook. Ernest will provide information on ordinances as well as action items.
